Tony Brennan_edited.jpg

Tony Brennan
Chairperson

Uncle Tone to most, he started the club in 2013 with his old mucker Nicky Milford. Returning to the role of Chair in 2021, Tony focus is developing the relationship with the wider community and promoting the club whilst maintaining the founding ethos of “affordable hockey for all”.

Tony has over seen the growth of the club from just 2 team to 6 all now playing in the EH South Central Leagues. Tony makes himself available to the membership for questions or advice and you normally find him pitch side most Saturdays supporting or umpiring.

Mark Chadwick
Men's Club Captain

Mark has been a member of the club for 8 years and is a true “Wanderer” having played for 7 different clubs across the country, in a hockey career spanning more than 30 years.

He is involved most weekends across the club playing for whichever team within the men’s section requires a body, as well as umpiring for our ladies’ teams.

Now stepping onto the committee Mark will be further developing the men’s section, building on the excellent work of his predecessors.

Vicky Mowbray
Ladies Club Captain

I’m Vicky - previously WWHC Secretary from 2021-2023 and now current Ladies Club Captain 2023.

I’ve been playing hockey for over 25 years, and still love it. My favourite thing about playing hockey is the after match teas and the away days.

We have a real sense of family community at the club and my number 1 priority is for everyone to enjoy themselves while they play competitive hockey.

Looking forward to taking on the role and I am here if anyone should have any questions, concerns or just want a hockey chat. :)

Ian Marlow
Club Secretary

Ian is father to two of the WWHC Juniors, Sam and Josh, who have both been playing hockey at the club for nearly six years.

This and the fact that he's known Tony for 20 years meant that it was only a matter of time before he was dragged kicking and screaming in to taking a more active role.

Passionate to ensure that everything and everyone is organised meant the role of Secretary was a natural step – plus he is also considering starting his own career in the Men’s 3’s at the age of 59 – which shows that hockey truly is for all ages!!

Sarah Birch

Welfare Officer

I started with WWHC's Back 2 Hockey when the club was born, first a striker scoring goals, now I'm happy playing in goal saving them!

I'm proud to watch the youngsters, my son included, come up through the club from Juniors on a Saturday morning to the adult teams touring the Cherwell Valley!

The Welfare & Wellbeing of each club member is at the forefront of WWHC, it really is a family affair #hockeyfamily
