BACK TO HOCKEY

If you have not played hockey for a while and want to get back into the sport, or if you just fancy giving it a go, we run back to hockey sessions every Saturday morning from 9.30am to 10.30am. These run alongside the juniors session. Back to hockey is informal, it’s a really great way to get fit and most of all its really good fun. Everybody is welcome no matter what level you are at, and its 100% free of charge!

WHAT OUR MEMBERS SAY

Gillian S

I joined WWHC at the start of 2017 having never really played hockey before, starting off in the Back to Hockey sessions and then progressing to the newly formed Ladies 3’s, playing non-league games.

During the 2018/19 season I progressed to the Ladies 2’s and shortly after became Vice Captain. My role is about getting the right balance between having fun with a competitive edge. Anyone who witnessed our last game of the 2018/19 season will know how competitive I can be!

Even though I am relatively new to hockey, I now can’t imagine my life without it.

“After a long time away from hockey (19 years) I was talked into picking up my stick again by Tony & Emma.  I’ve not looked back and I really kick myself for not making my come back earlier when my legs were a bit younger!  The whole team encouraged me when my confidence was low and the coach displayed a huge amount of patience!

Jess K

I first started playing hockey with the Junior section when I was 10, I now play in the ladies 3’s. The club is very supportive of its younger players and the coaches are always encouraging me to develop my skills and understanding of the game.
