ABOUT US
We are a welcoming and friendly Hockey Club based in Wootton, Northampton where we offer hockey for all ages and sporting abilities.
Founded in 2013, and affiliated with England Hockey, we are immensely proud of how the Club has developed over the last 10 years. We have grown substantially, and now have enough members to support three senior men’s teams, four ladies’ senior teams and a thriving juniors’ section but we are always looking for more to join us!!
During the off-season, we also develop our players by taking part in mixed and Summer 7’s ladies’ matches.
Our players have a mix of experience – those who have played for many years, some who have come back to playing hockey after many years of being absent from the sport and others that are completely new to the sport.
We also strive to develop our own talent by offering youngsters the chance to train each week – some of whom have progressed through the ranks to become great hockey players, representing the County and gaining even higher honours.
The Club holds a series of social events throughout the year and the majority are designed for the whole family to enjoy. There is a real sense of belonging in our Club with many lifelong friendships being made and some even finding their future partner through playing hockey.

We are 100% committed to making Wootton Wanderers Hockey Club the best that it can be and our mission is to be the first-choice club for players in Northampton.

A CLUB THAT CARES

I joined WWHC at the start of 2017 having never really played hockey before, starting off in the Back to Hockey sessions and then progressing to the newly formed Ladies 3’s, playing non-league games.
During the 2018/19 season I progressed to the Ladies 2’s and shortly after became Vice Captain. My role is about getting the right balance between having fun with a competitive edge. Anyone who witnessed our last game of the 2018/19 season will know how competitive I can be!
Even though I am relatively new to hockey, I now can’t imagine my life without it.
As Annies mum, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you, the team and club for making her introduction to Ladies’ hockey so much fun. You’ve all been super welcoming and supportive. Thank you to Anna Roworth for recommending you all to us!! Fiona
